Pakistan'S Textile Exports Decreased By 6% In Fy2019 / 20

On July 16, Pakistan's textile and clothing exports fell by more than 6% to US $12.526 billion in the 2019 / 20 fiscal year, according to the Statistics Bureau of Pakistan.

Textile exports have slowed down in the past two months as international orders resume. Compared with 36.5% in May, exports in June were 5.43% lower than last year.

The export volume of Pakistan decreased by 10.3%, while the export volume of bedclothes decreased by 10.3%. The export volume of towel decreased by 6.52%, the quantity decreased by 6.39%, the export of cotton decreased by 12.94%, and the quantity decreased by 17.66.

However, exports are expected to resume in July as exporters have resumed production to meet inter export orders.

Among the primary commodities, cotton yarn exports decreased by 12.49%, yarn excluding cotton yarn by 23.81%, cosmetics (excluding towels) by 13.16%, and raw cotton by 16.64. Exports of tents, canvas and tarpaulin increased by 5.95. In June, textile and clothing exports fell by 5.43% to US $959.13 million.
