Beijing time 15 news, according to the latest Credit Suisse report, so far this year, the United States retail industry has announced the closure of 7600 stores, a record high in the same period, of which about 75% is the sale of clothing or textiles so-called "soft line shop".

Credit Suisse warned that the risk of US retail stores closing in 2020 would be as high or worse as that of this year.

Credit Suisse analysts said they believe that "soft line retailers will be more and more difficult to maintain poor performance stores. If there is another round of large-scale shop closes in early 2020, it will not be surprising."

At the same time, the report also said that some shops located in shopping centers are most likely to be shut down on a large scale, including the large department stores Messi, large stores and drugstore chain Penney Company, clothing chain enterprises Gap, and the secrets of famous fashion chain brands such as Vitoria.

In August this year, Barneys New York Inc, a 96 year old luxury department store, filed for bankruptcy protection.
Previously, the bankruptcy of Forever 21, a famous chain fashion brand in the United States, has attracted many investors' attention. The company has announced that it intends to shut down up to 350 stores worldwide, including 178 US stores, in accordance with the eleventh chapter of the US bankruptcy law for bankruptcy protection, to restructure its business, but will continue its business in Mexico and Latin America. The company announced its withdrawal from the Chinese market in April, suspending operation of China's official website and reducing the size of its stores.
Since 2016, Forever 21 has gradually withdrawn from many European markets. In 2017, the Forever21 loss amounted to US $400 million.

At the same time, ZARA, H&M and GAP, as fast fashion giants, have also entered a difficult period.

In 2019, ZARA will close 250 stores to reduce the number of stores to ensure its growth. According to relevant reports in September this year, Zara has just closed two stores in Beijing's core business circle, one is the Dongzhimen Raffles shop and the other is the new Dongan store in Wangfujing.

The 2018 annual report of another well-known fast fashion brand, H&M, also showed that the number of 175 net stores in the world dropped to 130 and lowered the opening plan in 2019. According to GAP's latest report, sales in the first half of 2019 fell 1.9% to 7 billion 711 million dollars, and net profit dropped 14.3% to 395 million dollars. And in the next two years, GAP will close 230 stores.
