Zhu Beina was re elected chairman of China Cotton Textile Industry Association. Ye Jianchun was vice president and secretary general. Wang Keli, Wang Qingcui and Cheng Jie Wen were vice presidents of the association.

The meeting pointed out that the current critical period for the development of the cotton textile industry is that although the achievements during the "12th Five-Year" period are outstanding, we need to realize that during the "13th Five-Year" period, the cotton textile industry will face greater opportunities and challenges. The industry should continue to work hard from expanding internal and external demand, optimizing the capacity structure, strengthening product innovation, and improving automation level, so as to strengthen confidence and tide over difficulties.

During the "12th Five-Year" period, the cotton textile industry has quickened its pace of industrial restructuring, improved technological progress, made breakthroughs in cotton policy reform, and constantly promoted brand building, personnel training, and regional coordinated development. However, the industry is still faced with difficulties such as insufficient innovation capability, declining cost advantages, fierce competition in foreign trade, and the need to improve the cotton system.

During the "13th Five-Year" period, the industry will take the 6 directions of improving quality and efficiency, diversifying products, optimizing regional layout, building independent brands, realizing internationalization strategy and sustainable development of green environment. It is aimed at product production, pformation, synergy, sustainable development and industrial layout.

Zhu Beina said that in the past 5 years, the development of cotton textile industry has been challenging for 5 years. "Economic new normal", "pformation and upgrading, sustainable development" have been mentioned frequently, the industry situation is complex and changeable, and the closure and reorganization of member enterprises are more frequent.

The new Council will pform the way, adjust the structure and promote upgrading as the top priority for the development of the industry, so as to ensure the sustainable and healthy development of the industry.

The meeting also invited the heads of relevant state ministries and commissions, academicians of Chinese Academy of engineering, industry experts and representatives to discuss the issues of technological innovation on the promotion of the industry, the trend of cotton processing trade, and the change of cotton quality and cotton textile market.
