Fitiquette Creates Virtual Images Online
Clothes & Accessories
The industry is also rapidly shifting to online sales. However, compared with standardized 3C products, clothing pays more attention to personalized needs.
At the same time, it is limited by the scene of e-commerce. The trial process of traditional clothing sales is hard to achieve, which is a big challenge for online apparel business.
At today's Tech Crunch DISRUPT SF 2012 conference, venture Fitiquette announced its own plan to help fashion websites solve this problem.
Fitiquette
The two founders have worked in CISCO before, and now they decide to focus on helping online fashion brands to improve the user's "try on" experience.
Their solution is not difficult to understand: users use Fitiquette to create a virtual 3D image for themselves, then carefully measure the detailed size of each part of their body (such as arm length, waist circumference, etc.), and then adjust the virtual image according to the measurement results until it becomes a digital mirror corresponding to the user.
After completing the above process, Fitiquette will provide you with some dress suggestions, usually different styles and sizes. You can choose "try on" according to your customary dress habits.
Then you can browse other 3D as well.

Similarly, free rotation looks at the trying effect from different angles.
Many entrepreneurs have launched different solutions to this problem. For example, Fits.me, a bionic technology company, is trying to use the robot models and artificial muscles to simulate the shape and size of the buyers. However, the start-up company Upcload, which was shown at the Tech Crunch Disrupt conference in Beijing last year, hopes to estimate the body shape by means of camera capture.
But so far, no plan has been mature enough, so there are many opportunities left for entrepreneurs.
On the other hand, because of the existence of the virtual mirror corresponding to the user, the apparel industry also has the basis of providing online customization service.
Although some independent platforms have begun to provide customized services based on similar systems, their functions are still not perfect.
If one or more third party platforms like Fitiquette mature and mature, they will play a great role in promoting the development of clothing business.
