The large-scale industrialization of China's polyester industry started in the early 80s of last century, and its development was stronger than that in the middle of last century. At present, China has become the first country in the production and consumption of polyester.

Facing the situation that cotton resources are in short supply and polyester production capacity is relatively surplus, according to the characteristics of consumers' convenience, comfort, health and fashion for clothing requirements, combined with the technical characteristics of polyester and its fabrics differentiation and functionalization, the industry has proposed development and promotion.

Requirements for fiber and products.

At the end of 2010, relying on the strategic alliance of chemical fiber industry technology innovation, the Ministry of science and technology first launched the "12th Five-Year" National Science and technology support project - "super cotton synthetic fiber and its textile industrialization technology development".

The design optimization, the high proportion of modified components online addition and high efficiency dispersion, hydrophilic polyester system stable spinning, fiber morphology and mechanical properties control, 1,3- propylene glycol high activity and highly selective catalytic system controllable amplification preparation, PTT polyester continuous polymerization, energy saving and emission reduction in PET and PTA production process, and other key technologies that restrict the industrialization of super cotton imitation polyester fiber, as well as super Imitation cotton spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing and surface treatment technology, etc., to achieve the large-scale production of super cotton imitation PET fiber and the industrialization of domestic PTT fiber, and establish a super Imitation cotton polyester technology innovation chain and industrialization technology integration system from raw materials to textiles, and product evaluation methods and standards, and develop a series of products to achieve market application. The project aims to overcome the molecular structure and system composition of super cotton imitation PET polyester.

The project consists of four subjects, including China Textile Science Research Institute, Donghua University, Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Co., Ltd. and more than 20 units.

Du Yuzhou, President of the China Textile Industry Association, pointed out at the meeting that chemical fiber hyper simulation is based on the specific performance of traditional industries in the field of fiber resources and fiber materials.

The basic goal is to adapt to the requirements of nature and nature, and the performance and function of fibers.

The essential difference between super Imitation cotton and past cotton imitation lies in the realization of systematic performance and function super simulation through tackling key research, technological development and industrialization.

Du Yuzhou pointed out that the development of super Imitation cotton has become an important task for the textile industry in 12th Five-Year because it can make up for the huge gap of natural fibers such as cotton, and can meet the new expectations of people living a better life, enhance the added value of chemical fiber products and promote industrial upgrading.
