Chitosan (Chitosan) is the second largest organic resource after cellulose and is rich in natural resources.

The research shows that chitosan has natural broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, and inhibits the growth of dozens of bacteria and molds, and has good biocompatibility and biodegradability.

Because cellulose and chitosan have similar molecular structure and good compatibility, the study of chitosan modified viscose fiber has more theoretical and practical feasibility.

However, the dense lattice structure of chitosan makes the reactivity of cellulose relatively poor, and the difficulty of spinning is even more difficult.

In order to improve the performance of this reaction, we used O- hydroxyethyl chitosan (HECS) as raw material to blend with viscose after sulfonic esterification. The antibacterial viscose fiber was prepared by viscose production line and process.


In order to imitate the effect of silk, scholars have studied the use of protein grafted acrylic fiber, soybean protein fiber, milk protein fiber, pupa protein fiber and so on.

Pupa protein is made from dried silkworm pupa, made into pupa casein, remade into pupa protein spinning liquid, then blended with viscose spinning raw liquid, and then obtained by wet spinning of pupa protein / viscose blend fiber.

Pupal protein spinning liquid is well blended with viscose, and the spinning performance of blended silk yarn is good. The protein structure of pupa protein is expressed as a skin core composite structure which is concentrated on the fiber surface.


In this experiment, the raw materials of chitosan are provided by Zhejiang aoshing Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and the cotton pulp is provided by the Chengdu Huaming glass paper Limited by Share Ltd.

O- hydroxyethyl chitosan spinning solution is provided by Chengdu Huaming glass paper Limited by Share Ltd, and pupa protein spinning solution is provided by Yi Binhui beauty line Co., Ltd.

The above two spinning fluids were blended with viscose in a certain proportion, and the blending state of the blend was uniform and the filtration property was good.

The content of pupa protein in the blended silk liquid was 10% and the content of HECS was 4.5%.

The spinning experiment was carried out on the viscose fiber production line of Chengdu Huaming glass paper Limited by Share Ltd.

The conventional viscose fiber spinning conditions, such as coagulation bath, spinning speed and so on, are used in process such as washing, oiling and drying.


SEM analysis showed that the surface of the composite fibers was straight and there were many grooves, indicating that the addition of HECS and pupa protein had no obvious effect on the spinning of viscose fibers.

The grooves on the surface of the fiber are conducive to moisture absorption and dehumidification of the fabric, so as to ensure the wearing comfort.

The addition of HECS and pupa protein reduced the mechanical properties of the fiber to a certain extent. The dry and wet strength and elongation of the fiber were between viscose and silk.

But in general, its performance can meet the requirements of the national standard of viscose staple fiber, and can meet the requirements of subsequent textile processing.


Hygroscopicity and antistatic property are important indexes for evaluating fabric comfort.

The analysis showed that the hygroscopicity of blend fiber was higher than that of silk fiber and pupa protein fiber, but less than viscose fiber. The moisture absorption of HECS added chitosan / viscose fiber was higher than that of viscose fiber, which was mainly related to the surface distribution of pupa protein in the process of fiber formation.

Similarly, the specific resistance of the blend fiber is smaller than that of silk fiber, and the smaller specific resistance indicates that the fiber has good antistatic performance.


Although there are many explanations for the antibacterial mechanism of chitosan, -NH2 is considered to be an antibacterial group.

Therefore, derivatives derived from their C6 site -OH, such as O- hydroxyethyl chitosan and O- carboxymethyl chitosan, all have good antibacterial properties.


At the same time, the oscillating flask method is used to test the composite fiber with good antibacterial and antibacterial and washing resistance.
