Reporters learned from Shishi customs yesterday that 1-6 months of this year, the total value of ASEAN goods imported from Shishi customs area was 29 million 50 thousand US dollars, up 12.5 times compared with the same period last year, with a total tax of 33 million 230 thousand and 900 yuan and preferential tax relief of 17 million 553 thousand and 100 yuan, an increase of 11.4 times and 10.9 times compared with the same period last year.

It is understood that as the first free trade zone established by China and other economies, the China ASEAN free trade area was officially completed in January 1st this year. About 90% of the trade products between China and ASEAN enjoy zero tariff treatment.

This year, Shishi port enjoys a substantial increase in the rate of China ASEAN agreement tariff.

According to statistics from Shishi customs, the main import commodities in the first half of this year were waste residue and leftovers, unicorn algae and hydrogenated vegetable oils. The main importing countries were Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.

According to customs officers, the reasons for the substantial increase in the import and export trade between ASEAN and Shishi district are: on the one hand, the "active attack" is launched, and extensive publicity work is carried out to smooth the channels of internal and external information so that enterprises can make full use of preferential policies of origin, give full play to geopolitical advantages, actively explore the ASEAN market, and bring new opportunities for accelerating the development of local and ASEAN economies.

On the other hand, the "special window" post is set up at the business site to provide spot to point and targeted service for the import of goods that enjoy the "agreement tax rate".
