NCC Reported That In April, The Amount Of Cotton Used For Textile Mills In The Whole Year Was 3 Million 460 Thousand Packs.

On Thursday, the National Cotton Council reported that the annual cotton consumption of seasonally adjusted textile mills in the United States was 3 million 457 thousand bales (480 pounds) in April, up from 3 million 177 thousand in the same period last year.



Cotton consumption in April was slightly higher than that in March by 3 million 368 thousand bales.

NCC revised consumption in March, higher than the 3 million 348 thousand package reported last month.



In addition, the United States Census Bureau reported that the consumption of seasonally adjusted cotton days increased slightly to 12842 bales from 12499 in the previous five weeks to the end of April 10th.

Cotton consumption in April was also higher than the 11427 package in the same period last year.



During the 4 week of April, unadjusted cotton daily consumption totaled 13101 packages, up from 12529 in March and 11480 in the same period last year.



However, cotton consumption in the whole month dropped to 262020 bales in April, down from 313217 packages in March, but higher than the 229598 package in the same period last year.
