Bangladesh's major garment manufacturing group said on Wednesday that exports could double in the next 5 years to $25 billion, so buyers will shift due to rising costs in China.

In the fiscal year of June 2008, Bangladesh's clothing exports rose nearly 17% to $10 billion 700 million, up 75% in July alone, according to the Bangladesh government's export promotion agency.

"In the financial year of BGMEA, our exports will reach US $13 billion," said Mr. Parvez, President of the Bangladesh garment manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).

Most of the larger plants have been expanded because of increased orders from buyers, such as WAL-MART.

We have set an export target of US $25 billion in 2013. "

Experts say that in China's apparel industry, the abundant cheap labor force has ended and lagging behind because of high wages, which has helped Bangladesh increase its attractiveness to the world's largest buyer.

In the global apparel market, China is still a dominant competitive country, but its competitiveness is no longer competitive.

"The wages of Bangladesh clothing factories are 1/3 of China," said Mr. Murad, Dean of the textile School of private Southeast University in Bangladesh.

At present, no country's labor wages are lower than ours.

If the electricity problem is solved, there will be no limit to growth. "

Clothing trade is the cornerstone of Bangladesh's manufacturing industry, accounting for 80% of Bangladesh's total exports, accounting for 40% of industrial employment.

A garment worker in Bangladesh has a minimum monthly salary of $25.

Of the 144 million people in Bangladesh, 40% live below the poverty line, and poor families spend nearly 70% of their income on food.
